James Kerr, a Charleston, South Carolina native now living in New York City. By day, he works as a sound technician, but skating remains a big part of his identity. James got his tattoo after watching the OBEY Giant documentary. The story of Shepard Fairey, a fellow South Carolina native, struck a chord with him. The hometown connection and artistic inspiration made it an easy choice for James to commemorate the influence with a tattoo inked by a friend. Celebrating 20 Years of De Jeugd van TegenwoordigThis year marks two decades of Dutch hip-hop surrealists De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig and we went all out to celebrate.On Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th, the OBEY Amsterdam store transformed into a De Jeugd pop-up: exclusive merch drops, reissued classics, and every record they’ve ever released, all on vinyl. And yes, De Jeugd themselves pulled up, and helped us hold it down.It was “gezellig”.The OBEY Art Space in Amsterdam will stay dedicated to all things De Jeugd in the coming weeks.
