You stay classy in 2015, San Diego.
This past Wednesday, 2014 and 2015 met at midnight. To bring in the new year, I made my way down to San Diego, which of course in German means a whale’s vagina. The night consisted of a bad combination of coffee and white jeans, vegan sushi, some music I liked, some music I didn’t like, and a bar full of balloons, beardos, and duh, beer.
The main reason for making the 2 hour drive from LA to San Diego on New Years Eve was to finally get a chance to check out Mrs. Magician (Swami Records) live along with Teenage Burritos (Burger Records), and Heavy Hawaii (Art Fag Recordings).
After stuffing our faces full of vegan sushi at Sipz we braved the (Southern California standard of freezing) 41 degree weather and made our way over to Soda Bar for the show and great people watching.
The bar was at Capacity by the end of the night, I swear.
Teenage Burritos started off the night around 10pm –
Teenage Burritos are a San Diego based band that brings out the most angsty girl inside me. They formed in 2012 and the band released a 6 song cassette on Burger Records.

Midnight hit and Mrs. Magician rounded out the night in the best way possible –
At least I was able to get this before someone stole the setlist
