TURBO ISLAND AT THE OBEY ART SPACE

Last week, we welcomed friends and our wide-ranging circle to discover and celebrate the launch of our Fall 26 collection at the OBEY Amsterdam flagship store.Once everyone had arrived and caught up with each other, Amsterdam-based artist igor gave us a fierce live performance; coincidentally it was his 23rd birthday.Photos captured by Aryan Hamyani.

We worked with our friends untitled (halo) to shoot some of our favorite looks from the Fall 2026 collection and talk music, inspiration, notes app poetry, and upcoming projects. untitled (halo) is an indie rock band from Los Angeles comprised of members Ariana Mamnoon, Jack Dione, Jay Are, and Nicholas Noneman. They are known for their gritty, nostalgic sound inspired by films, real life, nature, and the culture of Southern California.The band is currently gearing up for the release of their self-titled debut album, out November 6. In the meantime, check out their latest singles, “aimee lou wood freestyle” and “easy rider.”BAND QUESTIONS:How did untitled (halo) come together? We are all friends, and it came together organically and almost just for fun as friends who just wanted to explore making music and art together.  Necessity, trouble, desire. What inspires untitled (halo) as a band?Films, real life, images, words, music, nature. Production, consumption, distillation.  What places have shaped untitled (halo)? Does Los Angeles live somewhere in the music, or have other cities left a bigger mark? We love London, Mexico City, New York. Los Angeles inevitably lives in the music, but any city we visit or experience always leaves us with some sort of mark.  What are you chasing with the next record? I don’t think we are chasing anything – if anything we are just finding the right words to say, sounds to make, images to share, that reflect the current state of the band. Fragments imprinted in time.  If the band had a mascot, what would it be? Our friend Davis, a little darling. 1998.  What do you want people to feel when they leave an untitled (halo) show?Reminiscent, inspired, excited, pensive? This season we worked with Gem Hale for the OBEY Artist Series. Gem is a photographer and director based in the Americas, with roots in Texas. A graduate of the BFA Photography program at SAIC, his work has been showcased in local print, online and physical exhibitions from an early age. Gem also produces limited edition books and zines documenting his personal projects and travels.The OBEY Artist Series collection featuring Gem Hale releases this Friday, August 14th at obeyclothing.com. Each purchase includes a zine, "Texas 4ever," featuring photographs by Gem.
