IDIOCRACY Screening in Echo Park- #MakeAmericaSmartAgain

Over the the weekend, the OBEY Crew headed out to Echo Park for a special screening of cult comedy “Idiocracy”, put on by #MakeAmericaSmartAgain and Eat|See|Hear. Make America Smart Again is an initiative started by Shepard and Amanda Fairey that aims to combat apathy and empower people to participate in the political process and go out and vote. The evening started out with a set from DJ Diabetic (Shepard Fairey) and a performance by TRDMRK (DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic 5 and SLIMKID3 formerly of The Pharcyde). We were all pretty stoked to see Mike Judge, director of “Idiocracy” and the brains behind favorites like Beavis and Butt-Head, Office Space and Silicon Valley to name a few. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the film, the original crew reunited for hilarious Q&A, which included Judge, stars Terry Crews and Dax Shepard, and producer Elysa Koplovitz. And yes, Terry’s shirt did come off at one point (peep the gallery). A huge thanks to everyone who came out and watched with us. Let’s remember to stay informed this election and make sure “Idiocracy” stays a comedy and doesn’t turn into a documentary. Stay smart, America!
