Artsy Fartsy

I spent a loong time at The Met the other day, checking out everything from ancient Egyptian artifacts and the European masters, to their new PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibition. Mostly focusing on the movements influence on high fashion, colorful spike haired mannequins displayed everything from trash bag coats to full corset gowns held together with safety pins, created by some of the biggest names in fashion land. Respects rightfully paid to Malcom McLaren and the one and only Vivienne Westwood too. Plus it was pretty fun to watch wall-sized footage of Sid Vicious and Patti Smith while listening to Richard Hell and Suicide with a bunch of bourgie artsy old people. Photos weren’t allowed but I managed to snap a few.. rebelling for a punk exhibition seems appropriate.

Swang by the Modern Art collection to say hello to my favorite, Robert Rauschenberg, and some other buddies.

Rauschenberg, Winter Pool

Warhol’s Ethel Scull 36 Times

Bridget Riley, Blaze 1

Jean Tinguely, Narva

Kicked back in Central Park after, but a few other people had the same idea. I still like The Big Apple.

Tootles!
