Just wanted to share a little inspiration from one of my favorite inspirational blogs www.apatchofsky.com… she has the most beautiful imagery. I guess you could say these hazy night sky images mixed with psychedelic dreams of what the 70’s would have been like inspired my capsule collection for OBEY.

IT’S ON THE HORIZON// Limited Edition OBEY + CATBREATH. CRYSTAL DYED mini skirts, leggings and a mini dress will be dropping on the web-store mid November. While I was at the press event with the OBEY team in September I had a sneak peak at some of their upcoming items and paired a few of my favorite OBEY women’s items with mine!  Love it. So watch out and breath the breath of the cat… XX

Happy Friday// Enjoy the sounds of BROOKLYN’S TELEPATHE. I wanted to share with you my absolute favorite song of theirs called  ”Lights Go Down” but I could not find on you tube… check it out though, its perfectly ghoulish. Makes you want to throw on a cape and trek through the streets causing mischief… then do a little dance.

Live from SHOREDITCH LONDON…. Obey at club THREES in the borough of Hackney, one of those gentrified outer city limit neighborhoods. Also, here is a preview of the limited edition OBEY + CATBREATH “LONG DAYS, LONGER NIGHTS” t-shirt. The original photo from the bridge was taken by Obey’s lovely Erin Wignall (women’s designer) and I from under the Brooklyn Bridge aboard the DFA records Disco Boat Party this past summer here in NY. Radness for all. xx

SINCE OBEY stands for art, lets talk RAD FINGER ART.

VALLEY is an amazing salon/vintage boutique in my neighborhood of NOLITA in NYC. Valley was opened by 2 sisters Nina and Julia Werman from, you guessed it the ‘Valley’ of Los Angeles to play homage to their childhood of growing up in the ‘Valley’. This was before it was known for porno and girls who can not figure out the proper way of speaking, but the vintage ‘Valley’ when it was mid-century modern homes, where advertising was still displayed as art, when you knew your cobbler, when your parents drank martinis by the pool… they brought that vibe perfectly to the middle of Nolita. Half the store is beautifully hand selected vintage clothing and an insane collection of vintage boots and the other half is a salon (manicures, pedicures on a lovely pillowed bench, waxing and facials)… what I find so interesting about VALLEY (aside from its beautiful exposed brick walls and Danish modern cubed shelving) is the wild nail art they are known for, a perfect contradiction set against the 70’s inspired vintage selection, and isn’t that what it’s all about?

Hello!!

I am so very excited to be guest blogging for OBEY and I hope you enjoy. As I am a KNITWEAR designer I thought it was only natural to share with you what inspires me to keep my day job. SANDRA BACKLUND is just another amazing thing to come out of STOCKHOLM,  what is in their water? (The Knife, Jose Gonzales, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Acne, Cheap Monday…Ok I will stop, you get it Swedes are rad) Alright well back to Backlund, she is one sick knitter, structural, architectural and always leaves me wondering how one person can be so amazing… This last collection seems to be based on INK BLOT tests, although I could not find any proof of this, I think the proof is in the pudding. Keep your eyes out for the textural OBEY + CATBREATH sweater to come… ENJOY XX
