You can find us at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 142, above Ben-G. We will be open at least until the end of June and maybe even longer.
Keep your eye out for special release items only available at the Amsterdam store, printed posters and much more.

]]> <![CDATA[MURAL INSTALLATION AT PACE PRINTS]]> Mon, 07 May 2012 15:32:38 +0000 Shepard and his assistant Nicholas Bowers spent the day at Pace Prints 521 West 26th Street yesterday, installing two site-specific murals. These will be on view in the windows of the gallery and will be visible from the Highline and the street.

Shepard’s exhibition Harmony & Discord opens tomorrow, Saturday May 5, at noon.


 

]]> <![CDATA[Happy Birthday Keith Haring]]> Fri, 04 May 2012 15:21:37 +0000 Today would have been Keith Haring's 54th birthday and to commemorate Google did a Haring front page takeover. This is a big deal for us at OBEY. Haring's take on art and his ability to operate on a street level and be able to transition into galleries was unparalleled at the time. He set down a lot of ground work for street artists today and was obviously a huge influence on Shepard. Give thanks to Keith and Happy Birthday!

 

 

 

 



]]> <![CDATA[His name is MCA]]> Fri, 04 May 2012 11:59:03 +0000 Sad news this morning to hear about the death of Beastie Boy MCA. Just last night I saw Mike D talking to known other than Rick Ruben over at the MOCA and had heard rumors that MCA was not doing well. The Beastie Boys were such a huge influence in their music and style. I remember my neighbor giving my brother and I a copy of License To Ill and how that changed our lives. Actually it blew our minds. MCA and Beastie Boys were originators in every sense of the word. We'll miss you MCA.

Hassan's probably embarrassed about it but he was our first look book model. He also has contributed a number of graphics for us over the years. He used to make DJ flyers for me and my friend Blu Jemz, and is just a classic LA dude. Check out this video we made about Hassan and make sure to check out the shirts.

If you've only been to The Crosby (Santa Ana, CA) for an occasional late night soiree you probably don't know about the ever-changing menu that Aron the chef and the hoodlums in the kitchen have been working on.  In the words of Iron Lung.. They be cookin up some marvelous shit to get your mouth watering on some "Ohh Shit!"




I could spend all day talking about what's in this stuff and how the flavors will treat you better than your high-school sweetheart.. But who really cares about my opinion.  You just have to go in for dinner and try it yourself.
