  • Woodside for the Ladies

The girls here at OBEY are super stoked on our new summer artist series collection with NYC based artist Jason Woodside.  He incorporates bright, colorful, geometric patterns over black and white photos of Shepard Fairey's street art to create a fun, inventive and modern juxtaposition. Right in time for bright and sunny days ahead, these tees are great to mix in with your favorite summer styles.

The Pittsburgh 02 Crop Tee is a summer staple with a pair of cut off shorts. Pair with our desert boots, bangles, and the Kurtz Jacket for a wasteland feel.

    Low Down Bracelet Set

We're getting weird this summer with bright floral bike shorts which perfectly contrasts Woodside's Boston graphic on our cut-off tank. Throw on some combat boots and a cross body bag, and you're good for day of trekking around the city.

  • Bronsonlino

Action Bronson! There isn't much I can say about this show. It was all around great, minus the technical difficulties. All and all it was a real Hip Hop show. Tons of awesome opening acts (too many to catch their names, as well as post all the photos), but all of them brought their all and were all excited to be there preforming which is great to see. Towards the end of the openers you could feel the crowd was getting sick of waiting for Action Bronson, once he came out though the energy went up like crazy. Bronson brought the show, coming out with blunts lit and sandals on (which he called "slippers"). If you have a chance to catch this dude live do it! If not just be sure to catch up on Actions cooking show "Action In The Kitchen", yes cooks as well as raps.

  • TOO MUCH BASS FOR YOUR FACE

Over this lovely Memorial Day weekend I headed out to Hollyweird and checked out the Bassrush VS Circus show. I'm not the biggest fan of Dub Step but I was impressed by these guys. The venue was packed and the entire crowd was going wild right from the start which was rad. There was some big name talent in the Pallidium on sunday, but the man of the night was Flux Pavilion whose song "I can't stop" was sampled by big dogs Kanye West and Jay-Z's song "Who gonna stop me" off their joint album Watch The Throne. Peep the photos from the night below!

  • OBEY + BLANDA Collection & NYC Launch Party

We're very excited to launch our fall artist series with Blanda Eggenschwiller, a New York City based graphic designer and illustrator.  Born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland her style combines collage, printmaking and drawing into a singular expression of feminine form. She draws inspiration from a variety of influences, such as Julie Verhoeven, Tibor Kalman, James Victore, Louise Fili and Martin Kippenberger. Her work merges these inspirations with her Swiss background and the visual stimulation of her daily life in New York City. She currently works as an art director at The New York Times.

The collection features three t-shirt graphics and three jewelry pieces. Blanda describes the inspiration for the collection as, "A collage-based approach to encapsulating the female figure through form (photorealistic images) and content (newspaper article that speak to the femininity of my subject matter). I like the work to reflect the visual hodgepodge of New York City itself, to make sense out of something that is non-sensical. I was playing with opposites and contradiction, the duality between things like politics and fashion, order and chaos, reality and fantasy".

Read more of the interview with Blanda here.

Shop OBEY + BLANDA collection here.

If you're in the NYC area, the launch party will be held on Sept. 13th at the Bowery Hotel at 9 pm. Stop by to meet Blanda and see the collection. More info here.

  • levis workshop SF

I just learned about the Levi's workshop in San Francisco. It could be well worth a trip to San Fran. It's open to the public on Sundays and they have free printing workshops. They also have product for sale and the proceeds go to local charities. Amazing!
