  • 5 DAYS OFF

A few weeks ago was the 5 Days Off festival in Amsterdam, an electronic music and art festival. Some friends were playing, so of course I had to check it out.

Thursday night's line-up at Paradiso was the best. Kutmah, Hudson Mohawke and the Gaslamp Killer were supposed to play, along side of some good Dutch names, James Zoo and Krampfhaft. Unfortunately Hudson Mohawke had to cancel last minute, luckily the gap was filled by Lunice.

    Kutmah's set was awesome.

The Gaslamp Killer said multiple times that night that Kutmah is his favorite DJ.

Luckily for all of you who weren't there you can find Kutmah's set from 5 Days Off here: CLICK

And then there was the motherfucking Gaslamp Killer. I don't know how it is everywhere else in the world, but here in Amsterdam they love this fucking guy. Luckily he loves Amsterdam too, so we see plenty of him.

Besides the main room my friends from Red Light Radio were broadcasting live from Paradiso's basement which was good as always.

If you wanna get a somewhat more professional view on the night, the guys from Los Bangeles wrote a pretty nice review about it. Check it out here.

  • OBEY & STEFAN GLERUM LAUNCH

If you follow the blog you might know that we had the official launch for the Stefan Glerum Limited T-shirt series over here in Amsterdam. We did an OBEY & Stefan Glerum takeover at our good friends at the Concrete image store. Here's a little re-cap.

The beginning of the night with the early birds who didn't want to miss out.

Available at the event only were screen prints of the graphics Stefan made for the limited serie.

Next to the limited serie that is released worldwide we did a special edition Tee just for the occasion. Only available at Concrete. If you are lucky they might have a couple of sizes left.

There weren't too much pictures taken because it got a little hectic and everyone, including the photographer, was enjoying the free beers a little too much.

Here's a nice one though. It's me enjoying myself seeing Stefan trying to hit on a girl. If you look closely you see her lips saying; "Whatever...".

We had to kick this guy out due to inappropriate behavior.

    Stefan was very happy.

Thanks to everyone that came out, it was amazing. And of course a big thank you to Concrete. And okay Stefan Glerum.

  • OBEY XXX FC

Sorry to my friends over at Freshcotton for taking so long to post this. But here it goes.

We teamed up with Freshcotton, it's safe to say the nicest online store from the Netherlands, on a collaboration for their 10 year anniversary. The result is a T-shirt and snapback hat, which came out quite nice I'd say.

'Ten years of FreshCotton, ten collabos. A series we’d like to start well. What better way than to kick off with our Obey x FreshCotton effort. Together with the legendary LA brand we designed a snapback cap and a t-shirt, inspired by the classic American sportswear as seen on basketball, baseball and football fields. Big logos, clean lines, no-nonsense.
On the all-black snapback there’s the ‘10’ with subtle red stitching, surrounding the Obey logo. On the back of the cap there the letters ‘OB’ –Obey and ‘FC’ – FreshCotton, separated by the three crosses found in Amsterdams coat of arms.
The Obey x FreshCotton T-shirt is done up in sporty heather grey with black and red print. The squad number 10, the striped sleeves and the Obey logo all show the American sportswear inspiration, resembling a football jersey. On the back you’ll find the letters ‘OB’ – Obey and ‘FC’ – FreshCotton, separated by the three crosses found in Amsterdams coat of  arms.'

    -Freshcoton

Both the T-shirt and the hat are only available on Freshcotton.com. Go get yours!

  • AMSTERDANG

It's been a while but here's a little Amsterdam update. Before Roam was in Moscow he was in some other countries and before that he was home. But before that he was visiting good old Amsterdam. He loves it, but to be honest we love having him too. But don't think he doesn't work hard.

So hard he needs to nap on the train sometimes.

    ---_0086

We did an install at Revert Ladies.

    ---_0087

The owner and a good friend, Jeroen, liked our work.

    ---_0093

    We played some dice .

    ---_0084

Rode bikes and hung out with this guy.

    ---_0079

Skyped with the infamous Jon Furlong. Ever since Jon is on Skype he loves drunk skyping me, please don't forget about the 9 hour time difference.

    Thanks Jon.

And lots of other boring stuff you don't care about.

  • Stefan Glerum's High Rollers Only

Aside from the fact that my dear friend Stefan Glerum is always trying to hook up with my girlfriends, he is also a really talented artist. And last weekend was the opening of his new show; High Rollers Only. Now don't let his looks fool you, he actually does make really nice stuff.

There are a lot of really nice new prints, but also original works. Of course none of them compare to my personal favorite.

Why does Jesus pop up everywhere I'm going lately?

  • OBEY WeTransfer

If you're not from Amsterdam you might not know who Nalden is, but out here he is pretty well known especially for his innovative way of blogging. Next to his blog Nalden is always working on a lot of different projects. Lately one of his main projects is WeTransfer. WeTransfer is a website that allows you to transfer files up to 2GB to your friends, co-workers or even your granny if she knows how to work the internet. The good thing is though that WeTransfer is absolutely free to use for everyone. And even better now we have our own customized OBEY channel. Go check it out is super easy and it just looks so darn well.

  • ICH BIN EIN OBEYER

Last week was tradeshow week for us Europians. All the main tradeshows were taking place in Berlin. We found ourselves at the Bright show, which had last summer moved from Frankfurt to Berlin. In Frankfurt the show was held in an old police station and to keep the tradition going in Berlin they took over the old Stasi headquarters. If you haven't heard about the Stasi, let me tell you they weren't the friendliest bunch. Anyway OBEY was present all thanks to the OBEY Germany team. Super gemacht Freunden!

    _36_0038

Roams and Steve T. were setting up the installation. Or let's just say Steve T. did all the work.

    Show time.

OBEY Germany chief Cem might look tough, but he's a real sweetheart.

    __8_0049

My good friends Rufus Exton is the official Bright photographer, at least that's what he tells me.

    __4_0045

Thanks to the Very Special Ben-G crew, the HUF dirtbag crew and the Skate Mental retard crew for letting me crash at the appartment.

    _23_0064

It was someone's birthday too, but he didn't want everyone to know. All I can say he has been a pro skater for nearly 20 years, he has an apparel and footwear brand and a store on Fairfax.

    __0_0001

Randomly ran into J. Christ at a gas station off the autobahn.

    _31_0072

    Steve T. couldn't believe it.

Thanks to everyone that came by. And for the people who didn't, you missed out.
