/ Surfrider

The Surfrider Foundation has been working on coastal conservation for 25 years. To mark the occasion Shepard was commissioned as one of 25 artists amongst the likes of Raymond Pettibon, Barry McGee, Alex Kopps and Thomas Campbell to illustrate a piece depicting the world’s most recognized, and in some cases threatened, surf breaks. Shepard collaborated with photographer Tom Servais to create the Jaws wave fine art piece that was auctioned at the Art for the Oceans Surfrider event. The proceeds generated went to the Surfrider Foundation.

The Surfrider Foundation and OBEY have come together to offer the Jaws wave illustration on an organic blank under the OBEY AWARENESS program. All profits generated from the sale of this OBEY AWARENES product are donated to support the Surfrider Foundation.

The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.

Represented by over 50,000 members and 60+ local chapters in the U.S., the Surfrider Foundation also has affiliations in Australia, Japan, France, and Brazil.
