/ HOPE for Darfur

OBEY is working with the HOPE Campaign to help empower individuals and bring awareness to the ongoing crisis in Darfur, Sudan. Since 2003, an Arab government and their Janjaweed militias have been killing, raping, and displacing its African citizens living in Darfur, Sudan. Thousands have been killed and millions have been displaced and are dependent on food aid.
HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere) is an energy conscious non-profit focused on involving artists and their contributions in campaigns, programs and events to support existing social projects that promote education and peace around the world. The organization was founded by former Mari Cease Fire Monitor and Human Rights Advocate, Brian Steidle. His experience as the first American witness to the crisis in Darfur is documented in the Global Grassroots film The Devil Came on Horseback and is the inspiration behind the HOPE for Darfur series.
With the help of Shepard Fairey, OBEY and many other groups and artists, this campaign has brought awareness about the ongoing crisis in Darfur to over 10 million people and funded educational programs for Global Grassroots and six other projects in Africa.
